Theralytics Patient Goals

GOAL:

By providing at-a-glance data visualization, the user is able to easily track and plan patient care utilizing analytics and algorithms to keep the patient on the most efficient path of recovery. The goals tab displays short and long term goals, highlighting information that is necessary to guide the clinician in making the best decisions per session for their given patient.

CORE USER NEEDS:

  • Streamlined approach to tracking individual patient goal progress no matter what clinician is seeing them that day.

  • Aim to decrease clinicians time spent writing individual goals by integrating a comprehensive catalog to suggest the best goals for the given patient based on assessment results.

How can we clearly display patient progression amongst disciplines using predictive analytics for more efficient and effective patient care?

FEATURE GOALS:

Allow clinicians to toggle between disciplines

Seeing the patient’s goal progress from another discipline's lens allows the therapist to make guided, intentional session plans.

Streamline short term and long term goals

Both short and long-term goals operate closely together with long-term ultimately reaching peak progression of movement on a longer timeline. Through tracking short-term goal progression, long-term goals are more likely to be met.

USER RESEARCH:

Q: What problems do you currently face with tracking goal progression?

“There are cues on there that are hard to say if they’re met or not because the info is irrelevant.”

Q: What classifies a goal as completed?

“There’s not a lot of follow up but there should be. as Therapists, we want to stay connected with patients to make sure they are prepped for whatever it is they need to do next to better recover.”

CONSTRAINTS:

Integrating the density of their current goal structure

With hundreds of steps to click through to create custom goals in their current software, the catalog of possible goals is endless. How can we streamline 20-30 clicks into accurately predicted results that can be adapted to fit specific patient needs?

Accurate progression tracking + optimal timelines

For progression widgets to function beneficially, clinicians must conduct and track a standard level of session activities, This can be difficult for a highly fluctuating recovery process. Features like this would rely on consistent input to build upon the predictive algorithm for accurate, optimal timelines.

KEY DECISIONS:

Configure goals catalogue to fit groups

Using keywords, types of goals can be categorized by color to provide greater ease in planning therapy sessions. This allows clinicians to quickly distinguish the overall aim for the patient and notice overarching patterns in their treatment plan.

Predict from assessment inputs

Goal prediction and progression will continue to build upon themselves by utilizing data from patient assessments. Not only will this make a stronger prediction tool but increase efficiency in the user’s workflow by being one step ahead.
