Theralytics Patient Calendar
GOAL:
Make this information more readily available by providing multi-view options, additional interactive features and quick access to locating the most important information before a session. The feature moves dynamically to provide the most visual real estate for the task at hand. Allow the calendar to act as a pre-session sticky note to bring to sessions where digitized notes can be securely stored until charting is complete.
CORE USER NEEDS:
-
Most of our users are scheduling in a separate software, printing out spreadsheets and writing on whiteboards. The minority uses their current software. They need something adaptable to their schedules in a visually pleasing way.
-
Our users want to start their documentation while with their patients but there are several constraints: unresponsive devices, lack of digital tools and dense documentation.
How can we optimize this tab to work seamlessly with the dashboard while adding additional value to our users for appointment preparation and organization?
USER RESEARCH:
Preparing for both new and active patients
“For new patients I have to read each goal , look at precautions and know what equipment they need in order to do the treatment. With existing patients, I already know this, but may need reminders depending on how many patients I am seeing.” - PT
Information is scattered and difficult to locate
Users are using sticky notes, “the back of [their] hands”, hand-written notes, and paper copies of appointments to keep track of things. What if everything that you need to see is all in one place AND you can take digitized notes in the same spot?
KEY DECISIONS:
Provide more value/functionality than the dash tile provides
What will entice them to use this feature? Without scheduling, users should still be excited about our optimized appointment organization and data accessibility. Ideally have all information you need in Theralytics and document later in EMR.
Frame this feature as a pre-session guide. a way for them to add notes during session
Be intentional with the way we are introducing this feature. It’s not intended for scheduling sessions, it’s a tool to streamline appointment organization and provide means for them to take notes to refer to later when inputting documentation into EMR. Allows clinician to be present during sessions.
